There's a lot happening at Owning the Dash!
This month, we're especially excited to share what happens when financial literacy moves beyond the pages of a book and becomes something families and educators can experience together.
From a successful financial education event in Mississippi to new educator opportunities, and even a new Owning the Dash store on Amazon, we're finding more ways to help make learning about money fun, approachable, and memorable for kids.
Owning the Dash in Action! 📚
The Mississippi Council on Economic Education recently hosted an Owning the Dash Family Financial Fun Night, where more than 100 attendees came together for hands-on activities inspired by the stories and financial lessons in the Owning the Dash Kids' books. The program was sponsored by the MS Department of Human Services.
Families explored real-world money concepts through activities connected to the characters and situations in the stories, turning lessons from the books into opportunities to learn, talk, and practice together. Paperback copies of the Owning the Dash Kids' books were also distributed so families could continue the conversations and learning at home.
