Updates from Owning the Dash: March 2025

Hello Friend,

We've been hard at work promoting kids' financial literacy and developing our Financial Literacy Kit! With the help of the six state Economic Councils and your support, we're making great progress on the kit, the website, a new card game and more!

As always, thank you. You help make all of this possible.

Sincerely,

Anthony Spreads the Knowledge
on The Get Ready Money Podcast

Host Tony Steuer spoke with Anthony about changing the way we think about money, and helping kids become financially literate.

 In this episode they discussed:

  • The number one reason that people don’t achieve their goals is fear of judgment.

  • Help your kids form their own opinion.

  • Let your kids make the choice.

  • You can introduce concepts at an early age.

  • The most critical lessons are the fundamentals.

Website Updates

In the spirit of continuous improvement, our website continues to evolve. Thanks to many of you on the feedback. You'll now find an improved educator section, which will soon have lesson videos and lesson plans! We also added a section for financial planners so more people can do the outreach to families.

Share Your Thoughts

What topics would you want to see in future financial literacy kids' picture books? We especially want to hear from parents and educators of 4-to 8-year-old children. Your input is important to us.

Financial Literacy Kit Update

We've been fine-tuning the kit with the help of education professionals. We hope to have the kit available on our website by late summer! The kit includes all six kids' books, PDF lesson plans, and our Spending Shuffle card game. All comes in a fun, printed box for safe keeping.

This Financial Literacy Kit is really a game-hanger for our approach. This is a system. We'll even be adding accompanying videos in the near future!
