The latest from Owning the Dash

Hello from Owning the Dash!

We’re thrilled to share what’s been happening in our community this month — from connecting with families at local events to hearing powerful feedback from educators in Mississippi and Arizona. It’s inspiring to see so many teachers bringing our stories into their classrooms and helping children build strong financial foundations. 🎓✨

Let’s dive into what’s new and what’s next!

👋 The Dadvisor Out in the Community

Owning the Dash author Anthony Delauney was live at the Belmont Bookshop Literary Festival in Belmont, NC. It’s always great to meet parents and to discuss the value of early financial literacy. He’ll also be presenting at the Arizona Financial Literacy and Economic Education conference in Glendale, AZ in early October and at the Wilson County Public Library in Wilson, NC in November!

📚 Feedback from Mississippi Teachers!

Recently, a group of Mississippi teachers participated in a training session put on by the Mississippi Council on Economic Education. The teachers learned how to incorporate our books into their classrooms. Here’s some of the feedback they sent us!
* Size: love that two kids can share a book
* Thickness of pages; less likely to tear
* Style and format are easy to follow
* Diversity and representation

Thanks, all! 🥰

📚 Teachers in Arizona are ready to teach OTD books!
The Arizona Council on Economic Education launched their teacher training, and we’re delighted have their comments.

I love how many activities that I have ready to use next week. I also appreciate that the books are hard bound for long lasting learning.

🌞 Are you attending the Arizona Financial LIteracy and Economic Education Conference next month?

Anthony will be attending the event! Make sure to keep an eye out for him and say hello! We’re also submitting our Financial Literacy Kit for an award, so wish us luck!
